Balloon Fiesta , our annual nine-day event that brings the most people to New Mexico will open in a few days, October 6. For information visit the City of Albuquerque's official web site http://www.cabq.gov/fun/balloonfiesta.html and http://www.balloonfiesta.com/
I plan to be at the opening of the fiesta. I will start the morning volunteering to sell tickets beginning at 3:30 a.m. (I am an early bird) to benefit one of my service clubs. Just after the sun comes over the Sandias, I hope to be having breakfast and viewing mass ascensions.

Balloon Fiesta touches many lives; not only those of local and other hot air balloon pilots from all over the world who will come to test their skills and show off their talents, but also the lives of visitors who will come to view the show and enjoy other attractions of Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico, and perhaps have their lives positively transformed by experiencing the unforgettable beauty of the landscape and sacred spaces in the Land of Enchantment. http://eloise-mynewmeico.blogspot.com/2007/01/new-mexico-land-of-contrasts-surprises.html
Balloon Fiesta also touches the life of everyone who is affected by the economy of the city of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County and surrounding areas, up to the entire state of New Mexico. It affects vendors and service providers who return each year to help make the show a success. It affects service clubs and volunteers who work at the fiesta to support projects. By doing so volunteers support their club, their community, and the economy, while having a great time.
You have not been to the Balloon Fiesta? Well, Welcome aboard! Have a great time at one of the greatest shows on earth! If you are visiting from abroad, while you are here, take time to look around, go sightseeing, and enjoy life under our big, high desert, blue sky.
