When a river runs through your city that river becomes a focal point especially if the city is in the desert. Everyone knows where the river is, all eyes drawn to the landmark of its banks with with its profusion of vegetation. The river demands attention also because the residents have to be aware of crossing points. In any such city, one may have need to cross the river back and forth several times each day for business or pleasure.

The Rio Grande runs north to south cutting an almost straight path down the middle of the city of Albuquerque, forming the de facto dividing line between the eastern and western parts of the city. Albuquerque, NM is hosting the District 5520 convention in Albuquerque this week, May 7 through 9 at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
