Happy Valentine's Day!

In February, we begin to see the end of winter and our thoughts turn toward spring cleaning, tidying up the garden and longer sun-filled days. St. Valentine’s Day comes along just in time to provide us an excuse to procrastinate, be frivolous and playful sending and receive silly and not-so-silly, gifts, poems, cards, flowers, chocolate, candy, and other trifles.

Because of St. Valentine’s Day, February is often called the month of lovers. Lover or not, feeling loved or not, the day gives us us a great opportunity to say, I love you. It really can be serious fun!

So while I await my chocolate and flowers, here’s my not-so-silly poem by Johanna Fuchs. Thanks Johanna!

Valentine’s Day is for expressing affection
Fond thoughts are coming your way;
We’ve always had a special connection,
So Happy Valentine’s Day!
